Aboriginal Health Practitioner

Aboriginal Health Practitioner – Tamworth Casual | Part-time | 38 hours per fortnight (negotiable)

HealthWISE is currently seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join our team in Tamworth. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about delivering holistic, culturally safe care and improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in the region.

About the Role:

• Provide person-centred clinical care and health education
• Assist clients in accessing GP, allied health and specialist care
• Deliver culturally appropriate chronic disease management and preventative health support
• Promote and support participation in HealthWISE programs
• Advocate for the needs and rights of clients and their families
• Collaborate with the broader HealthWISE team to enhance community health

About You:

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander*
• Hold a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
• Registered with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board
• Strong understanding of health issues affecting Aboriginal communities
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills
• Willingness to travel and work flexibly as needed
