Job Description

Are you passionate about empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through mentorship, cultural support and career development? Sodexo is looking for an inspiring and culturally grounded individual to join our team as an Indigenous Mentor Liaison Officer.

As an Indigenous Mentor Liaison Officer, you’ll be the heart of our Indigenous employee support initiatives. This is more than a job—it’s a meaningful role where you’ll walk alongside our Indigenous team members, offering cultural guidance, emotional support, and career development.

Your role will include:

  • Facilitating regular “yarns” and mentor visits with Indigenous employees on site
  • Supporting individual career plans and connecting team members to external services
  • Promoting Sodexo’s Reconciliation Action Plan and engaging with Traditional Owners and Elders
  • Providing cultural awareness training to non-Indigenous staff
  • Working closely with National Indigenous Affairs Manager, HR, Learning & Development, to empower and provide your mentees with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
  • You will closely with the Traditional Owners to deliver meaningful and authentic engagement to drive employment, training, and community development initiatives

You’ll bring:

  • A strong understanding of Australian Indigenous cultures and communities
  • Experience offering mentoring, career support, or psycho-social services
  • The ability to build trust, create safe spaces, and maintain professional boundaries
  • Experience and knowledge of meaningful engagement with Traditional Owners
  • Strong communication and cultural training skills
  • Computer literacy and administrative confidence
  • A current Police Clearance

Preferred but not essential:

  • Qualifications or study in Human Resources, Business, or Indigenous Cultural Studies
  • Experience in mining, remote site catering, or facilities management
