About the role
Work within the Alcohol Drug Service and provide culturally sensitive care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people accessing St Vincent's Hospital inpatient and outpatient Alcohol and Drug services
Work closely with patients and their families
Assist staff to provide culturally safe and respectful care to Aboriginal patients and families
Liaise with key community organisations, particularly Aboriginal Community groups and services
About you
Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health needs
Strong communication and computer skills, including advocacy and negotiation
Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues and harm reduction principles.
Ability to work effectively in a busy, multidisciplinary team.
Experience in engaging with Aboriginal people in a health care setting
Current unrestricted NSW Driver's License and willingness to travel
