First Nations Community Coordinator

Shine People Solutions is an Aboriginal-owned and operated business. We assist companies to expand their Indigenous workforce and recruit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across all levels of business.

We are currently recruiting for the role of First Nations Community Coordinator based in North Parramatta, NSW. This is an Indigenous Identified role and is only open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

About the Role

Our client is a key delivery partner for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), providing Early Childhood Approach (ECA) services across the Sydney region. In this role, you will support First Nations children (0–9 years old) with disability and/or developmental delays to live meaningful lives, strengthen their independence, and build community connection.

This is a full-time role offering flexible work hours and up to 3 days working from home per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, culturally respectful relationships with First Nations families and communities
  • Conduct observations of children in natural environments to assess functioning and support needs
  • Support families to establish goals for their children and track progress
  • Facilitate access to local mainstream services and community supports
  • Promote inclusion, participation, and wellbeing in line with Early Childhood best practice guidelines
  • Travel across the Sydney region to engage with families in their homes and communities

About You

This position is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only.

You will bring:

  • Experience working with First Nations children and families
  • An understanding of child development (0–9 years)
  • Strong connections to local First Nations communities
  • The ability to build community networks and service pathways
  • A commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practices

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in Early Childhood, Allied Health, or related field (desirable)
  • Understanding of child protection principles and the Keep Them Safe framework
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (P1 or higher)
  • Current Working With Children Check & NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Full working rights in Australia
