Indigenous Hospitality Officer | Pinangba Services | Townsville

  • Employment Term: Part Time 
  • Location: Townsville
  • Remuneration: $30.05 + 12% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging
  • Rosters: Week one: Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm. Week two: Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat and Sun 10am - 3pm
  • Must have good cooking & preparation of meals skills

We are seeking individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander who are interested in pursuing a career as a Hospitality Officer.
 
To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.

We have an opportunity available for an energetic, passionate and highly capable Hospitality Officer to join the team at Stagpole Street Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre (SSDARU)

SSDARU provides residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Services are delivered by Pinangba, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led arm of UnitingCare. The service is based on a modified family therapy model.

Your part in our team

As an Hospitality Officer a key support role to the delivery of our services, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring business operations are run efficiently and our clients and residents receive an exceptional experience.

You will:

  • Preparing, cooking and delivering food in adherence with Australian food safety standards and dietary Requirements of our residents
  • Supporting senior hospitality staff members with daily operations which may include housekeeping and laundry services
  • Being required to uphold impeccable hygiene standards.
  • Prior hospitality experience in kitchen or cleaning
  • Ability to work alone in a kitchen environment
  • Enthusiasm and strong self-motivation
  • Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
